While this might not be the most “Landscape” oriented piece of machinery the mechanics are still the same so figured I’d get your guys opinions on the matter. So I acquired a late 70’s early 80’s Lincoln Stick welder/generator that had been sitting for YEARS. It has a 2 cylinder Onan motor as the power plant with an electric starter. When I got it I started with the simple stuff, compresion test, drain fuel, clean carb, replace cracked fuel lines, etc. Got it to the point of ready to fire...

Ford tractor hydraulic?

Ford 3400 (similar to 3000) has intermittent hydraulic not working, 3 point and aux hydraulic.

I rebuilt the lift cover and all that looked good. Pump is ok because sometimes all works great. I think I have an unloader valve sticking. But can't find where said valve may be located? Open to suggestions. I read a lot online and YouTube, can't find my shop manual.

Hello everyone! I have a 2000 xw2500 Dixie chopper that I have installed a Kohler kt745 to replace the Kohler command that was on it. The Manuel for the kt745 shows a relay between battery and starter. The mower did not originally come with a relay. Does anyone know what relay I might need? I guess this will be required as there is not a solenoid on the starter. Then just follow wire colors from mower plug and tie into replay and wire plug of engine?

Shindaiwa M242 multi tools compatibility??

I've got a Shindaiwa M242 with several attachments that I picked up really cheap. The powerhead has seen better days. I'm stuck with the decision of rebuilding the engine on this M242 or buying a new one. The attachments on this unit twist, just enough to annoy me anyway. Yea, the unit runs, but not long before she soaks the spark plug, and blows oil out of the muffler. So, I'm leaning towards buying a new one, and maybe going to one with a little more hp. I don't know if these attachments...

Long story short, I want to reach out to local LCO’s and contractors about trailer repair, and gas trucks. I have a good location ready to rent, (nothing extreme, just a place to work). I have also been putting some time in stick welding, so I want to utilize that. I looked into welding courses, that is to come soon fingers crossed..

Anyone done this before? Looking to do this in the off season, and at night after cutting/landscaping..

Hello, I’m new here. I was wondering if anyone could give me any information on a 2013 Dixie Chopper Magnum 2350 with the Kohler 23 Hp EFI. I believe the safety module has gone bad. When I turn the key to the on position the fuel pump kicks on for just a second then shuts off when I turn the key all the way over it cranks but won’t turn on. If I Disconnect the battery then put it back on, the fuel pump kicks on for around 5 seconds then I crank the engine and it fires right up. But when I...

honda gx270 on a pressure washer stalling problem

This machine runs good for about 20 seconds pumping water from start or about 2 minutes running with the wand off and not pumping. If I let it run without pumping a minute, it will die instantly when I start washing. I thought it was not getting enough gas, but that is not the problem. The instant it dies I have turned off the gas and after a short wait it will run quite a long time telling me the reason it stopped the 1st time was not because of a lack of gas. Kohler 6.5 hp

I have a 6.5 kohler engine on a log spliter its a SH265 and it wont start if its o a uneven surface and spits a sputters while it is running and some time quits if you move it than it will state back up. I have come to the conclusion it has to do with the oil sensor. it is full of oil. has any one worked on one of these there are 2 oil sensors one is a switch and one is a oil alert #'s 6and 7 0n the diagram

Echo 8010T Break-in Tune Up?

Hi,

I read in the manual that the 8010 blower should get a tune up after 2 hours of break-in use. I called a local shop and they said it wasn't needed after break-in. If it is needed, what does it need? Carb adjustments?

Kohler vtwin 20 hp surging

Have a 20 hp Kohler v twin that is surging bad. Smoothes out with choke pulled 1/4 way out. Brand new carb, checked both coils with testers and there both good. All gaskets are brand new. Not sure what to do.

What could be the problem? Would not start, wasn't getting gas. Would run with starting fluid. Thought the problem was with the carb or fuel lines. To make a long story short, Replaced everything fuel related and still won't start. Suspected coil as there was no spark after it ran a little on the starter fluid. Waited a week to get the ign module and just installed it. No change. so far....will run on starter fluid, not drawing in the gas. The ceramic insulator the carb mounts on doesn't...

Just bought a XT 3300 with a 33 hp Generac motor. Motor makes a winding noise anytime throttle is above 25%. First I figured it would be hydraulics however when I listen closely it’s almost positive coming from the engine. Previous owner said it’s been there over 2 years and never had any issues. Hey everyone.
Got a toro turfmaster with fj180v.
I removed the carb just to clean, put it back on and now blowing black smoke running very rough.
I have tried absolutely everything I can think of. Have even put a brand new carb on with new gaskets, no difference. Linkages appear to be all correct.
Took to my dealer and he suggested govener gears internally might be stuffed. This doesn't explain that even when you move the throttle on top of the carb by hand the rpms increase but still runs...

Kawasaki fj180v got me stumped

Fj180v runs very poorly and smokes. I have tried everything. Done all test. Compression test showed around 90psi. did a leak down test with no leakage at 100psi. Cleaned carb several times and also installed a brand new carb. Has great spark. Also installed a new ignition coil. Fresh fuel and good flow. I’ve installed several new plugs and plugs indicate a rich air fuel mixture but engine actually runs a little smother if you choke it slightly. I’ve adjusted valves. Made sure exhaust wasn’t...

ZTR mower parts cost too much!

In my opinion, parts now a days cost way to much for Ztr mowers. Does anyone know where to get good deals on ztr mower parts, Dixie chopper parts in particular? An electric fan should not be $230! Parts in general for zero turns have crazy sky high prices. Let me know where you get your parts and what mower you run. Post pics of your mowers too.

Tecumseh aftermarket ignition coil change

Hey! Looking for a tip...working on my old Tecumseh H60 snowblower engine and I replaced the coil on this Tecumseh magneto with an Oregon brand coil. The aftermarket coil sits cockeyed since the hole is 1 mm larger than OEM. Is that ok or will I have to shim with something?

Also the tab for the clip to hold the coil is barely raised on the new coil so not much to grab onto. Any tips to prevent the wire clip from vibrating off?

Br600 stiff pull string

Hey guys,

this is my first post and it’ll be a simple one...

has anyone noticed that after a couple years the br600’s get harder to start? It seems like everyone I’ve owned gets stiff and I really have to pull hard to start it.
If so... know how to fix it?

The maruyama machine i have calls for this NGK bpm6y plug . It's not that common anymore i guess but i can still get it . Can I use a 7y or 8y or stick with what it calls for
