Cutting issues 44" Fastrak

First season using the 44" Fastrak. It's as high as it will go at 4" and I've tried at 3" and 3.5" too. It's leaving uncut grass and it doesn't matter how slow I go. I can go full speed and it doesn't not at off but will still leave some uncut grass same as going slow. It had dull original blades so I installed new OEM from the dealer hustler high lifts. I'm running the humbolt whirlwind bagger as well. New deck belt and idler pulley and the belt is tensioned right. I've leveled the deck per...

Cub cadet will not go up hills

Just picked up a residential cub cadet ztr it cranks and mows just when you up an incline it will not go. Is this an easy fix

On deck spindles how much grease do you put in them? There is a plug on the bottom of spindle housing does these get greased to. Does this type of spindle use a tapered bearing?

I am a long time listener first time caller. First off thank you for all the great information on this site. I have read and reread a lot of threads on his issue, but still confused. I have a 2007 Scag Turf 29DFI 61. The clutch went out and in the process I realized the voltage was way off. I was getting 15.5 to 16 volts out of the rectifier. I disconeted and cleaned all the connections, new fuse holders, fuses, rectifier, ammeter ( the old one melted) and clutch. Voltage is down to...

Hey guys,

Sorry for my first post being a plea for help. I have sort of 'lurked' here over the years and never really had to ask a question. Always found the answer here.

Need to get your ideas on something.

I have a Skag Tiger Cub with a 19 hp Kawasaki engine. Engine has 800 hrs. on it and has been reasonably maintained over the years. Recently I developed an oil leak from the top of the engine. Pulled the cover and flywheel. The gasket for the breather was the culprit.

ExMark Lazer Z HP blowing fuse

I have a 2002 Exmark Lazer Z HP with the 23HP Kawasaki. It keeps blowing the 20A fuse that sits between the starter solenoid and the ignition switch. It only blows when I engage the PTO. I've replaced the ignition switch already. The PTO switch tested good for continuity according to the notes on the schematic. The only link between them I can find is the shared ground between the Electric Clutch (PTO) and the starter solenoid. So that means its either the starter solenoid, or the...

Walker MDD 2001 shuts down when it warms up

I have a walker mower diesel, 2001 that has worked like a champ up until this year. i have been trying everything to repair but can seem to find the solution. the mower will work fine for about 45 minutes to an hour and once it warms up the electrical seems to cut out and the engine starts to bog down, once it happens for the first time it will keep up every few minutes or so. i originally thought it was fuel issues, then realized its more electrical. i have replaced many components and...

I have to sit on the seat to crank It but after that seat switch and no other safety switches work. Nothing is visibly bypassed.

Echo speed feed head crossthreads

I got a Stihl fs90r and an echo speedfeed head. I tried the gold nut, but it cross treaded on both heads (I returned the first one cause I thought it was defective) I also tried the green nut on the first head but it wobbled all over.

Is there something I missed or have you guys had the same problems?

toro proline 52

Hi everyone. New to site.
I have a proline with a52 deck.
Nothing looks bent but the front right wheel hits on the bracket for the anti scalping wheel. Has anyone else experienced this.
Just picked up mower. Was ok before but tire was flat. Stock size tires by the way.
Deck floats but if I adjust it back the belt gets too loose.

So I bought a used but clean LZ27KC724 (~2k hrs) a week ago and, luckily, the seller was very honest with everything about the machine. Started, ran, drove, mowed perfect except there were only two issues:

1. It was lacking power when in full-forward (no load) and obviously lacked a little power when mowing in full-forward.

2. I was seeing some oil on the block and couldn't figure out the source

I was freaking out a little hoping the engine didn't have any major issues. I only paid...

Stihl Gearbox Threads

While Stihl had made numerous changes to the gearboxes through the years, they have kept the threads on the stub shaft largely the same.

The most popular and standard head that comes on most straight shaft Stihl trimmers is the AutoCut 25-2 which is Part Number 4002 710 2108.

With the above in mind and knowing which Stihl Models use the 25-2 line head I did a "part search" on the nut that is used to hold the metal blades on the same stub shafts. That nut by the way is Part Number 4126 642...

17 Kawasaki - revs REALLY high when not under a load

17 Kawasaki. About 2,800 hours.

Bladed engaged, throttle at 3/4 to full throttle. Disengage blades (at the same throttle level) and the engine revs REALLY high. To the point where I have to lower it fast down to about 1/4 throttle.

Sounds like it starts knocking or would blow if I left it there too long. Thanks for any help.

2007 scag turf tiger 61v 27ch kohler 74... Serial. I mini blocked this engine reinstalled parts correctly. Engine cranks runs good. Idle full throttle. Bogs down looses power but only with blades on hardly pulls a hill with them on. Plugs dry carb cleaned. I believe that my charging system is shot. Battery last 30 mins then won't restart. Just as the title says, I have a brand new, under 1 hour, Kawasaki engine leaking oil from the rear cover just above the oil filter. I wanted to go with a Kohler but the shop in Middle Tennessee advised it would cost more because I would need a new clutch and control cable so I decided to go with a Kawasaki as they said they never see problems with them.

I am looking for advice from professional mechanics who are authorized Kawasaki mechanics or servicing dealers. What are the chances...

I have a Grasshopper 729 with the powerfold deck and don't like bending my big butt over to raise and lower the deck. I know they make the switch that mounts by the seat as an add on but how hard would it be to mount a switch on one of the control levers so u could raise and lower very easily while driving

My PR pump on a Ferris IS3100 just ate a thrust bearing. Tore both pumps down, new seals and bearings. Everything went together great. Once it was back together I did the purge cycle with the wheels off the ground. That all went well. Drove it around, mowed my own front yard and then noticed drops of oil on the driveway. Parked it and it's leaking out the bottom shaft seals. The seals that came out were the same dimension as the new ones. Can't figure out why they'd be leaking. Any...

OK, i have this 48" Scag Tiger cat 22HP KAW... Love it ! we cut 90 yards a week with that and a 52" Ferris Hydro.

First it was a coil pack ,,, then a valve issue ...now 3 days later its blowing smoke out of the exhaust like someone put a smoke bomb on the exhaust pipe ? The sales-guy says that with 1750 Hours that it is coming to the end of its life ? Really ?

any idea of why it is blowing smoke out of the exhaust ... ?

Is it time for a new Brigs engine ? i hear that they are great ?
