Anyone resurfaced Kawasaki Heads?

I've got a 737 Deere that had a leaking head gasket in cylinder #1. Yanked the head yesterday and reinstalled a new head gasket, but it's still running the same. I haven't checked it for a leak again, but I assume my head is probably warped. This mower was purchased used and it has a new head on cylinder #2, but #1 is still original.
Question is, can I have this head resurfaced? Is this something I can do on a flat surface with some sandpaper?
