Gunk build up

so guys, question for everyone. On a few of my blowers, trimmers, and even my mowers I have spots like this that are just build up of dirt/grass and straight up gunk lol. What do you guys prefer to use to clean this off with? I don't want to use a rag considering its close to all sorts of parts I don't want to break.
