What is the "spacer" for on a Stihl br600 blower?

i picked up a relatively good used br600 that did not have the black spacer over the muffler that is mounted in the shroud cover. I see in the manual it specifically calls out that it should be replaced if damaged. I posted a pic of the manual mention. What is that thing for and where can I pick one up?
