I hit a water meter lid with one of my scag turf tigers 61in 35hp on the nondischarge side (customer didn't put the lid down all the way) it didn't kill the mower but it immediately started cutting bad, I replaced the blade and noticed the blade bolt was obviously bent so I replaced it, I thought that fixed it..
