Exmark OCD

I am told by Exmark that their ODC only opens about 95*. Has anyone tried to modify one so that it opens 180*? I dont have one to look at. I have someone telling me that It opens all the way but u have to remove the pin on the flap.

I know Exmark has safety in mind but I have production in my mind and having this thing make the mower wider is not good.
