lawn mower engines that blow up?

I'm asking this question because I am NOT a lawn mower mechanic,and would actually like to learn some things from all the engine techs. I use synthetic oil in my mower engine because in my mind I feel it's better,and there's less chance of my mower engine blowing up. I'm sure there are numerous reasons why mower engines blow up ,and I would like to explore all the different reasons why? Please advise. Thanks!
