I have recently purchased a John Deere 757 with the 25hp Kawasaki, also with the understanding it needed some work. The mower itself is in good condition, no rust and only minor comedic repairs/ a good washing needed. Hydro's seem to operate great, and it seems to cut good with the exception of needing new blades. Anyway to the point... The engine takes forever to start, I figure this is due to lack of fuel since the clear filter never seems to be getting enough (probably...
