I have a 344cc Commercial Briggs 217807-0125-E1 on a 28" WorldLawn WBH. Engine looks like this. No oil filter:

Bought mower used and Never had a single problem with this engine (except the electric start stopped working but I've just been pulling the cord instead and ordered some fuses and will have to multimeter diagnose the battery or something). Always started 1...
