Replacing a Kawasaki with a Kohler

Hello, all. I've come into a Wright Sentar with a 23hp Kawasaki fh680v cs13 that developed the apparently common oil leak out of the top of the motor. It's only showing 900hrs or so on the machine. It has some other engine issues and I'm thinking it'd be better off to just replace the engine in toto. Would I be better off going with a Kohler engine? The research I've done seems to indicate that a Kawasaki has the potential to develop the same issue again.
