Another Kawasaki bites the dust

Kawasaki fx30va on 3 year old vride fails. Unit had around 1200 hours and was burning oil. The lifter loosened up and post failed. I will need new head. Big dilemma to repair it replace. hate to put another Kawasaki on? Has anybody other brand engine on 52" vride?
