Briggs Vanguard Carb issue?

So I got a new stander this year with a 26hp (810cc) Briggs Vanguard engine. The engine seemed fine for about 60 days then started to miss a little. Within 1-3 hours run time the miss got worse and at that point I put it in the shop. The dealer claims it was a fuel issue and would not be covered under warranty. They cleaned the carb and said there was an abnormal amount of debris inside the carb, especially for such a low hour motor.
