recently got a Briggs and Stratton intek 23hp engine (2 actually). Cleaned the carb and reset the static governor control. It cranks and starts but goes full throttle as soon as it starts like it's about to self destruct. Tried adjusting the governor shaft both ways but no change. Pulled the bottom cover and everything looks brand new BUT... the governor just slides right off. The is some sort of retaining ring slot on the governor shaft but no ring.
