Any benefit to repowering a small walk behind with big v twin?

I recently acquired a decent shape scag 36" walk behind, probably 10 or 12 years old now. It originally came with a Kawasaki fb460v (12.5 hp?). I've searched for one like it and I'm not having much luck. I would also settle for a kohler cv15 but I just can't find them local. I did however come across 2 parts lawn tractors with Briggs intek 23 hp v-twins (for $50). I got one running so I've started to install it on the scag walk behind. All I really need to do is wire it up for electric start...
