I replaced the 10.5 HP briggs on a walk behind. The engine that came off had one red wire with a diode connector that connected it to the wiring harness. (disregard the kill wire for the coil).
The replacement engine has 2 wires.... a red and a black. since the red had the diode, that's the one I connected. the black? Goes to nowhere. Motor runs fine starts and stops etc.... What is the black wire for?
