Grasshopper steering handle adjustment?

I bought a 2010 930D grasshopper and the steering handles are 3-4" apart when pulled together. From pictures I've seen on the internet, they should rest closer than that. I've put new plastic bushings in the steering pivot blocks and don't really see any adjustment other than bending some parts. Am I missing something here?
