Rebuild or replace hydro pump?

My new to me Lazer Z has a bad seal in the right pump ( knew when I bought it). It pukes fluid into the area where the hydro belt is between the pumps and engine. They look easy to do from the videos I've watched, but could the shaft get scored by the bad seal, making a rering or rebuild pointless?

Also, I noticed both pumps don't match....is the left side an upgraded unit because of the fan?
