Totally green here but mechanically inclined. Got my hands on my first commercial mower this week, an older 48" belt drive scag, that looks like its having a possible transmission issue. Motor is good, when facing the mower as to use it, the right side linkage from the transmission and pulley spins and engages the belt drive pulley perfectly. The left however, is a different story. The shaft that comes out of the transmission, i believe its the transaxle, spins real slow but mostly does not...
