Super Z wheel motor question

I've got a Hustler super Z with just under 700 hours. I developed an annoying squeak/squeal that I've had a hard time tracking down. It finally got bad enough that I think I found the problem. I jacked up the mower and the wheel motor axle on the left side has a quite a bit of up and down slop, I'm assuming bad bearing(s). the right side has some slop but not to the extent that the left side has and there is no noise coming from right side. Hydraulics still seem responsive.
